Our goal for the 2nd Annual Food Drive was 1,500 items… and you didn’t just meet it—you crushed it with a final total of 1,983 food items! 👏👏
Because of our incredible SPMS Leadership Team and the unwavering support of our community, these items will go right back into Meade County to support families facing food insecurity. That's the real impact. That’s real leadership.
🏆 School-wide team winner: The A Team with an incredible 623 items! Way to lead from the front! 👏
We are beyond proud of our students for stepping up, leading the charge, and proving once again that SPMS is built different. And to our community—THANK YOU for always backing our kids and showing what it means to take care of one another.
💚 This is the Greenwave way.

Let’s get our Greenwaves ready for a strong start to 9th grade! 💚🎓

On March 5th, our SPMS Student Leaders spent the morning at Barry Hahn Primary’s Read-a-Thon, teaming up with younger students for some reading time.
Our middle schoolers stepped up as role models, showing the younger students what it looks like to lead, help others, and bring positive Greenwave energy wherever they go.
Big Greenwaves leading the way for the little Greenwaves.

By this point in the school year our teachers are feeling a little like a late-summer lawn—well loved and a little worn down… so Pike Lawn & Garden stepped in to help give our staff a fresh cut and a little boost of energy!
We’re so grateful for businesses that support our schools and help keep our SPMS teachers looking sharp and ready to grow great things with our students.
#GreenwaveGratitude 💚

Please help us welcome Ms. English to our ELA team!
"My name is Hannah English and I am thrilled to be joining the Stuart Pepper Middle School teaching staff next school year! In May, I will graduate with a degree in English for secondary education. Returning to the community that played such an important role in my own journey makes this opportunity especially meaningful, and I look forward to starting my career in Meade County!"

We are proud of the way these students represent SPMS both in and out of school. Service is a big part of our mission as a Leadership Team, and they truly stepped up.
Thank you for making our school and community proud! #SPMSLeadsTheWay

SPMS COMMUNITY… YOU SHOWED UP BIG.
Our 2nd Annual SPMS Food Drive is absolutely rolling, and our teams are in a TIGHT race for the Service Badge!
🔥 Team Updates:
Guardians of the Greenwave – 369
Caped Coalition – 373
A-Team – 405
Super Squad – 285
That brings us to a GRAND TOTAL of 1,432 items collected so far!
This competition is running neck and neck — and it truly could be ANYONE’S badge at this point. Every single item matters.
Shoutout to this week’s 3rd period winner… Mrs. Thomas with 77 items! WOW!
Next week is PROTEIN WEEK — think peanut butter, canned chicken, canned tuna, beans, and other high-protein items that help families create full meals.
We are blown away by the generosity of our SPMS families. The real winners are the families in our community who will benefit from your kindness.
Let’s keep the momentum going, SPMS!

"Hi, my name is Lynne Trotter, and I am thrilled to be joining the teaching staff at SPMS! This past year, I had the privilege of serving our school as the technology coordinator and an instructional assistant. I'm excited to continue working with the incredible students and dedicated staff at SPMS in this new role. I am a graduate of MCHS and hold degrees from Centre College and the University of Louisville. My family is proud to call Meade County home, and I am truly honored to serve and support this wonderful community. "

💚 GO BIG GREEN 💚

SPMS families — we are off to an AMAZING start!
Last week alone, our students collected 1,065 food items to support families in our community. We are so proud of their generosity and competitive spirit!
🎉 Last week’s top class was Mrs. Staples’ 3rd period with 237 items!
🏆 Current Team Standings:
Guardians of Greenwave – 329 items
Caped Coalition – 281 items
The A-Team -258 items
Super Squad – 197 items
This week is Cereal Week! We are asking students to bring in boxes or bags of cereal to help families start their mornings right. All donations should be turned in to students’ 3rd period classes.
It is still anyone’s game, and one large donation can completely shift the standings!
Thank you, SPMS families, for supporting our students and helping us make a difference in Meade County. Let’s keep the momentum going! 💚
Sincerely -
SPMS Student Leadership Team
