"Hello, my name is Dana, and I am a proud mother and wife. Family holds a significant importance for me, both personally and professionally. Meade County will always be my home, and I am thankful for the community bonds that make it feel like an extended family. As I start my 23rd year in special education, I am honored to continue my career at SPMS. Outside of work, I enjoy activities such as reading, crafting, and baking. We’re excited to welcome Michelle Funk as our new Library Media Specialist at Stuart Pepper Middle School! While the role is new, Michelle has been a familiar face here since 2012, teaching Language Arts, Literacy, and Reading. Now in her 18th year in education, Michelle is living her dream—sharing her lifelong love of reading and helping students discover the joy of getting lost in a good book. She began her teaching career with a passion for fiction and a mission to pass that love on to her students. To Michelle, Stuart Pepper isn’t just where she works—it’s home. The staff is like family, and she’s thrilled to continue growing in the place she loves most.
Outside of school, she enjoys life with her husband Nick and their three kids: Maddox, Berkley, and Zeke.
We can’t wait to see all the exciting things she’ll bring to the library this year!
